Suspense Account

A suspense account is an account that is recorded in the general ledger and is used to book transactions only transiently. It is employed when an appropriate account is not possible to be figured out at the time of the booking of the financial transaction.

As soon as the appropriate account is determined, the amount is moved from the suspense account to that appropriate account.
